Encounter with a Film Producer

As a serial entrepreneur with a passion for filmmaking, Ofir Kedar, a native from Israel, lives in London for almost 10 years. Ofir is the founder and CEO of Tomori Films (www.tomorifilms.com) which has developed relationships with filmmakers all over the world raising financing for the development of film projects and the production and distribution of feature films, documentary and short films. Ofir just finished producing the film "A Thousand Kisses Deep", which is set up in London, starring Dougray Scott, Jodie Whittaker, Emilia Fox and David Warner. From his office in the centre of Covent Garden, he kindly accepted to answer to our four questions:

What brought you to London?

I originally had a business opportunity, but we all, as a family, ended up falling in love with the city and decided to make it our home. The film industry in London has enormous untapped talent in all aspect of fimmaking -- writers, actors, crew, and post production facilities.  So London became also a brilliant career move for me.

What is the last exhibition, film  or show that inspired you and why?

Someone told me once, that if you are bored in London, you are probably bored with life...  There are so many opportunities, events, shows, and exhibition that it is hard to name one.  We just saw Cirque du Soleil - Totem, which I thought was amazing, and for those who would like to see a recent film that centred in London, I would recommend "The King's Speech".

If you had to leave London, what would you miss the most?

I will probably get bored...  I will miss it so much - beyond a great culture and interesting diverse people from all over the world, I will miss a vibrant yet a very human city, that never stops, and never says 'no' to any idea, colour, concept or tone.

Could you recommend one of your favourite place (shop, restaurant , venue...) in London?

Where should I start?  Eva, my wife and I love to go to the Almeida Theatre - we never been disappointed there (www.almeida.co.uk).  The Royal Academy of Art always has great exhibitions (www.royalacademy.org.uk).  And last but not least - in Covent Garden - Neal's Yard for its great cheese (www.nealsyarddairy.co.uk) and Cafe Monmouth for amazing coffee (www.monmouthcoffee.co.uk/Shops/Covent-Garden).
